Your Path to Mental Wellness Starts Here
At Good Therapy, we believe every person deserves to live a fulfilling life. We offer a customized therapy approach to each of our clients based on their unique needs.
Step 1: choose a therapist from our Meet the Team page by reading their bios and getting a feel for who might be a good fit.
Step 2: book a free 15 minute consultation with the therapist you've chosen. Ask questions about fees, scheduling, and how therapy may help.
Step 3: at the end of your free discovery call, book your initial session to discuss your concerns, establish your goals, and build rapport.
Step 4: attend your subsequent sessions, learn to apply strategies and skills between sessions, and discuss your progress with your therapist.
Clinical Supervision
Supervision is an integral part of the on-going development of skills and competence of therapists. According to the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, "supervision and the opportunities that it provides for critical self-reflection and professional growth are central components of ethical social work...most importantly, it promotes high quality care for clients."
Sherri is a clinical supervisor and meets the requirements of both, the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, to provide clinical supervision to interning and new therapists. Note: clinical supervision is not for the general public.
Trauma and PTSD Treatment
Trauma is an emotional response or reaction to a terrible life event or series of events that happened in your past regardless of how recent or long ago, where your survival was threatened and your sense of safety was fractured. Trauma makes you feel like you are experiencing the traumatic event over again, in the present, even if it happened months or years ago.
Therapy for Stress, Anxiety, & Work/Life Balance
Do you struggle with feeling disconnected from yourself and others? Do you put your needs at the bottom of the to-do list? Do you wonder if life should feel somehow better? Happier? Less stressful? Less over scheduled? Now more than ever, people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed and uncertain about how they are supposed to manage their relationships, kids, careers, and their lives. Pushing away your needs and not taking time for yourself can lead to long-term issues for your mind, your body, and your relationships. At GOOD THERAPY, we believe it shouldn’t be so hard to live a better, happier, less stressful life.
Therapy for Grief, Loss, and Depression
Grief is the emotional response to various forms of loss, most commonly associated with the death of a loved but can also occur at the end of a relationship, job loss, or significant life changes. Symptoms of grief can include deep sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, and feelings of isolation and loneliness. Individuals may find it difficult to move on due to the emotional weight of their loss. The journey through grief can be complex. It often involves navigating a range of emotions and memories, which can make it challenging to envision a future without the person or thing that has been lost.
